6. Faith–Towards Jesus

… fixing our eyes on Jesus… – Hebrews 12:2

In the last blog, I had mentioned that our Christian faith must begin with Jesus Christ. But it is not enough that our faith begins with Jesus Christ, we must continually fix our eyes on Him. Jesus Christ is Eternal. HE has no beginning and no ending. HE alone is our Alpha and Omega. One of His Names is “The Word of God”. For everything, there is a limit, but not for the Word of God. Hence our faith should be growing all the time.

Today many Christians start with Jesus, but once they start running, they have so many other things to fix their eyes on. Some of them focus on Spiritual deeds, some cannot get enough of various doxologies and others have certain preachers to listen to.

Eye identification

Recently a believer came to me and showed a photo he received on Whats-app. It was a photo of a chapel and he asked if that is how the chapel of Satan’s church look like. I was actually bewildered and asked him, what makes him think that I would know the inside of Satan’s church. He had thought that I might know. Just like that. Why would I know about Satan’s church, when my entire life would not be enough to know about Jesus Christ?

Apostle Paul puts it very elegantly. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. – 1 Corinthians 2:2.
You may ask, is it wrong then, to know other Spiritual things? Various doctrines? Devil’s schemes? A good question. God willing, I will answer that in another blog.

But today, let us decide to do only one thing. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Let us determine to know only Jesus Christ and Him crucified alone. Let us grow in faith. Let our lives be pleasing to God. Amen.
