Psalm 4:7

You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

The Bible never tells that the things of this world does not make us glad. But the things of this world are fickle in nature. In one second, things could change so drastically and if our joy is based on those ephemeral things, so will be our joy. But Jesus Christ does not change, yesterday, today and forever. So, let our joy be based on the unalterable nature of Jesus Christ. May He fill our hearts with such gladness this morning.

சங்கீதம் 4:7

அவர்களுக்குத் தானியமும் திராட்சைரசமும் பெருகியிருக்கிற காலத்தின் சந்தோஷத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும், அதிக சந்தோஷத்தை என் இருதயத்தில் தந்தீர்.

சந்தோஷம். இந்த உலகத்தின் காரியங்கள் நிச்சயமாகவே நம்மைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துகிறது. அப்படி இல்லை என்று ஒருபோதும் வேதம் சொல்லவில்லை. ஆனால் இந்த உலகத்தின் காரியங்கள் எந்த விநாடியிலும் மாறும்; நம்முடைய சந்தோஷமும் அப்போது மாறிப்போகும். ஆனால், தேவன் தருகிற சந்தோஷம் மாறாத ஒன்று. சூழ்நிலைகள் மாறினாலும், இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நேற்றும் இன்றும் என்றும் மாறாதவராயிருக்கிறார்; ஆகவே அந்த சந்தோஷம் மாறுவதில்லை. அந்த சந்தோஷம் இந்த நாளில் உங்களையும் என்னையும் நிரப்பட்டும்.

பிலிப்பியர் 1:29

கிறிஸ்துவினிடத்தில் விசுவாசிக்கிறதற்குமாத்திரமல்ல, அவர்நிமித்தமாகப் பாடுபடுகிறதற்கும் உங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

கிறிஸ்துவின் நிமித்தம் பாடுபடுகிறது ஒரு பாரமான காரியம் அல்ல; அது தேவன் நம்மேல் சுமத்துகிற ஒரு சுமக்க முடியாத சுமையும் அல்ல. அது நமக்கு அருளப்பட்ட ஒன்று. எப்படி கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கிறது ஒரு சந்தோஷமான காரியமோ, அப்படியே அவருக்காகப் பாடுபடுவதும் ஒரு சந்தோஷமான காரியமே.

எப்படி இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை சந்தோஷத்தோடு நம்முடைய இரட்சகராய் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டோமோ, அதே சந்தோஷத்தோடு அவருக்காகப் பாடுபடுவதையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வோம். அவருடைய நுகம் எளிது.

Philippians 1:29

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.

Granted – the word used here denotes something given as a gift, given as a favor. So, we have two-fold gift from God. One is to believe in Jesus Christ, His Son. And the other is, to suffer for His sake.

Suffering for the sake of Jesus Christ is not a burden that the Lord has imposed upon us; it is not something that we need to clench our teeth in pain and have to suffer through. It is a gift given to us. It is a favor that God is doing to us. For those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their God and Savior, let us not stop there; let us also accept, with joy, that we are counted worthy to suffer for His sake. For those who have not made up your mind, trust in Jesus Christ. For His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Isaiah 49:15

Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you.

What beautiful words the Lord gives us this morning! Yes, even if those who love you so much today may forget you tomorrow, but the Lord our God will always keep you in His mind, forever and ever. For He redeemed you to be His, by giving His own life. Yes, dear friend, your Redeemer loves you and His Name is Jesus Christ. Never forget that as you enter the busy week ahead.

ஏசாயா 49:15

ஸ்திரீயானவள் தன் கர்ப்பத்தின் பிள்ளைக்கு இரங்காமல், தன் பாலகனை மறப்பாளோ? அவர்கள் மறந்தாலும், நான் உன்னை மறப்பதில்லை.

Am I a sheep or a donkey?

The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. – Psalm 23:1

In a previous blog, I mentioned that to take possession of the promise in Psalm 23:1, that the LORD is my Shepherd and I shall not want, we need to be sheep, for our Lord Jesus Christ is the Shepherd of sheep. And it does not matter, whether the sheep is dumb or intelligent, as long as it knows and follows the voice of the Shepherd. Today, let us look at one another aspect of a sheep.

Sheep are not meant to carry loads. We would never see a sheep carrying a burden. But there is another animal meant for carrying burdens. A donkey. That is its job. To carry loads. To carry burdens.

Unfortunately, today, many Christians are donkeys, rather than sheep. We have become a people who are melancholic and gloomy, waiting for a disaster to strike us. Unable to bear the cross of our day-to-day life. But we are not meant to.

We are supposed to carry the yoke that our Lord gives (Matthew 11:29-30). But instead, we carry all our burdens and all our worries in our hearts. Though we come to the presence of the Lord and unload our burdens through prayer, when we go back, we make sure to carry those burdens again. There are some Christians who even warn us, if we are filled with joy and laughter, that the Lord does not like Christians laughing and if He hears us laughing, He will make us weep. Not sure which Bible they are reading.

Listen to the Psalmist. Cast your burdens on the Lord. Everything. All your pains and hurts. All your worries and failures. All your fears and expectations. The LORD is able. Yes, He is Lord Almighty. Creator of the Universe. HE has been sustaining everything that we see and that we cannot see for eternity. HE can sure sustain you. Pour your heart like Hannah did. But leave all your worries at His feet. Let the LORD trample down every burden that makes you weary.

You are called to be a sheep. You are meant to be taken care by the Shepherd. You are not meant to worry about anything. You are called to trust your Shepherd for everything that you need. You shall not want, for your Shepherd is the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you (Deut. 33:26).

Let us come to Him. Let us come to Jesus Christ. Let us accept His invitation. And this is His invitation: “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Yes, He will give you rest. HE will make you lie down in green pastures. HE will lead you beside still waters. Come to Him. Now.

சங்கீதம் 20:7-8

சிலர் இரதங்களைக்குறித்தும், சிலர் குதிரைகளைக்குறித்தும் மேன்மை பாராட்டுகிறார்கள்; நாங்களோ எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக்குறித்தே மேன்மைபாராட்டுவோம்; அவர்கள் முறிந்து விழுந்தார்கள்; நாங்களோ எழுந்து நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கிறோம்.

கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் கூட அநேக நேரங்களில் தங்களிடம் இருக்கும் பொருட்களையோ, பணத்தையோ, தங்கள் கல்வியறிவையோ, வேலை அல்லது தொழிலையோ நம்பி வாழ்கிறார்கள். ஒன்றுமே இல்லையென்றால், அப்பொழுது தான், “பயப்படாதே, கர்த்தரை நம்பு” என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.

தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையே, எல்லாம் ஒரு நொடியில் அழிந்து போகக்கூடிய மாயை. ஆனால் மாறாதவர் நம் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மாத்திரமே. அவரையே நம்புங்கள்; அவரில் மேன்மை பாராட்டுங்கள். எழுந்து நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கச் செய்வார்.

Psalm 20:7-8

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

Even Christians often end up trusting in their possessions, their education, jobs and other things. And when we have nothing to trust in, it has become a fashionable to say, “Oh, don’t worry. Trust in the Name of the LORD our God.” No, no, dear friend, no matter what we have in our life, all those things are ephemeral; only the LORD our God is eternal. Trust in Him always and He will strengthen you and you shall rise up and stand firm.

Psalm 86:10

For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God.

Yes, LORD, You alone are God and You are great. And You do great things, too wondrous for us to even fathom.

You are great in Your love for us. And, Father, You did a wondrous thing – You gave Your only Son, Jesus Christ, for us. How wondrous You are! How amazing great Your love is! I praise You, Lord, for You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Amen.
